Junction Hotel Thames Launch Heartland 2011 for Swampfoxes

On Tuesday 19th July 2011, The Junction Hotel in Thames hosted the launch of the 2011 Heartland campaign for the Thames Valley Rugby Union.
"What a great way to launch our 2011 campaign, the Challenge Continues" said CEO MR Geoff Sanders. "I can't thank the staff and management of the Junction Hotel enough, for without their support this evening could not have happenned" he added.
The evening was an opportunity for players, sponsors and invited guests to meet and mingle, with the formalities being a thank you from the CEO, and then Bill Cooksley (Rugby Development Officer) introducing the Coaching Staff, management and then the players to all present.
After an improved effort in 2010 when the Swampfoxes made the Meads Cup section of the Heartland Competition for the first time, there is strong confidence within the team that they can go one step further this year. With the Rugby World Cup being played in New Zealand this year, it would be a great moment for the Swampfoxes to repay the support from their fans.

Similar to last year, this is a young side, with a few senior players returning to cover those that missed out. Although there are some hard luck stories from players who missed out this year, it can only add depth to the talent pool, as well as strengthen the Development team who will be playing for the Stan Meads Cup, a new competition beginning this season.
"Wouldn't it be fantastic if we could have both Meads Cups in our possesion at the end of the season" Mr Sanders finally quoted.
