Thames High Into Chiefs Trophy Final

posted May 5, 2012, 3:24 PM by Thames Valley Rugby Football Union Inc
Thames High 1stXV came from a half time deficit to defeat Rosehill College 17 - 13 at Rhodes Park on Saturday 5th May to
advance to the final of the Chiefs Trophy. Played in ideal conditions, the first half saw Thames score first with a penalty, only to see Rosehill College score a converted try not long after. With free flowing fast rugby, Thames started to settle and scored a try in the corner, however they could not convert. Thames missed 3 penalties as well to trail 10 - 8 at half time
.
The second half saw both defences hold out all comers, and it was left to penalty shots to determine the final result, Thames holding on to win and advance to the final of the Chiefs trophy.
Hauraki Plains travelled to Pukekohe High and fought galliantly to finally fall short 12 - 7.
