After the fourth round of the Newmont Waihi Gold Thames Valley Senior A competition, four sides now sit on 6 points, 4 clear of those below. With Paeroa West having a comforable win, Tairua a bye, and both Waihi and Hauraki North scoring last minute tries to defeat Whangamata and Thames respectively, these sides have given themselves a buffer from the rest. Whangamata, Thames, Te Aroha Cobras and Waihou all have 2 points with Mercury Bay still winless. The results however show that the gap between the sides is not that much, and there is still plenty of interest to see what happens in the next few rounds.
Senior B results went mostly as expected, with the exception of Paeroa Old Boys and Paeroa West. West, previously unbeaten, and Paeroa Old Boys, only managing 3 points so far played for the Hughes Memorial Trophy, and for the first time in a while, Paeroa Old Boys now have it back in their possession. |
