The fine weather allowed some high scoring, especially in the Senior B games.

The biggest surprise this weekend was that Mercury Bay, last years top 4 finisher in Senior A were defeated 30-0 by Waihi Athletic, last years defeated finalist in Senior B. Thames and Whangamata fought out a tightly contested game, with either side being unlucky if they lost however Whangamata winning 13-8. Tairua were given a wake up call by the Te Aroha Cobras, scraping to a 25-20 win. Hauraki North doing enough to continue their form from last year, winning 18-6 over a determined Waihou.

Senior B seems to have sorted itself already, with big margins to all the winning sides. With the top 5 already 9 points clear of the bottom four, some interesting games are coming up. Make sure you go and support your team, because being at the ground suppoting your team is what sport is all about.
