Round 5 saw last years Senior A finalists both get beaten by last years Senior B finalists. Paeroa West, who had a 15 - 6 half time lead could not hold off Whangamata, going down 18 - 15 and Hauraki North travelled to Waihi, but left with their first loss of the year also, going down 27 - 23. Tairua proved too good for Thames winning 17 - 0, and Waihou were big winners over the bottom side Mercury bay 48 - 10. Next weeks game between Tairua and Waihi promises to be a beauty, with the winner moving to the top of the table. Senior B results went the way of forms, with Thames and Hauraki North well clear, but Coromandel are breathing down their necks. Senior B are not playing over the Easter weekend. |
