After the retirement of Thames Valley identity Allen Fisher in December last year, the Thames Valley Rugby Football Union has named Bill Cooksley has his replacement.
“There were over 20 high calibre applicants for this position, and whittling it down was a difficult exercise” said Thames Valley CEO Geoff Sanders.
Mr Cooksley has had many years experience in the sport and recreation sector, in particular working with young people in coaching, administration and supporting roles, most recently as the Hauraki Plains College Sports Co-ordinator.
“His excitement, energy and knowledge will be a great asset to Thames Valley Rugby over the ensuing years, and will continue to build on the New Beginning theme pushed in 2010” said Mr Sanders.
Mr Cooksley will officially commence at the Valley on Monday, 7th March 2011.
